In a historic ruling, the Federal Oral Court 2 (TOF 2) ordered this Tuesday the effective seizure of 20 properties of the Kirchner family and over 80 real estate assets of Lázaro Báez and his companies to cover the 684.990 billion pesos that, according to the firm sentence of June 2025, were defrauded from the State between 2003 and 2015 through the cartelization of 51 road works in Santa Cruz. Cristina Kirchner, under house arrest since July, qualified the measure as "political persecution" and announced appeals to the Supreme Court. The decision comes after all the defense's delaying tactics of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner were exhausted. She had filed three appeals in Casation – all rejected on November 10 – to halt the execution. The court rejected the arguments of Cristina Kirchner, who claimed that the execution should be handled by the civil and commercial court, confirming the criminal court's jurisdiction. From the Government, Minister of Justice Mariano Cúneo Libarona announced that "all assets will be publicly auctioned and the funds will be allocated to public road works throughout the country." The land in El Calafate totals over 137,000 m². The seized assets from the Kirchner family include the Los Sauces Casa Patagónica complex in El Calafate –adjacent to Cristina Kirchner's private residence– and the 10 departments on Mitre 535 in Río Gallegos –built by Austral Construcciones de Báez– which are the assets of the greatest symbolic and economic value. Cristina's children, Máximo and Florencia, have not commented.
